Lost Nights
at Calar Alto
While we were observing quasar fields with the 1.23m telescope at Calar Alto to enlarge our database for lightcurves several occasions appeared to point the telescope to other "beautifull" targets. This happened usually while we had to wait for the meridian crossing of the main quasar target or while moon, clouds or technical reasons covered the area ofthe quasar. Sometimes the sky was clear but the seeing conditions were horrible. We called those poriods of waiting "lost nights". During the time a set of nice pictures were sampled. Some of them are shown here. Klick into the image to get a higher resolved version. |
